Jungle Scout and Helium 10 sell the same promise: one login for product research, keyword research, listings, and ads. They are priced very differently, they are strong in different places, and the right one depends far more on what stage your business is at than on any feature list.
The short answer
- Choosing a first product on a budget: Jungle Scout. Growth Accelerator at $49/mo on the annual plan does the research job for half the price of Helium 10 Platinum.
- You own a live listing and run PPC: Helium 10 Platinum at $99/mo annual. Cerebro is the reason. Jungle Scout’s Keyword Scout can look up keywords by ASIN too, but Cerebro’s multi-ASIN comparison and filtering is the deeper tool for optimizing a listing you already sell.
- Established brand doing seven figures: Helium 10 Diamond, unless you want Jungle Scout’s enterprise product badly enough to sit through a demo for a custom quote.
- Agency managing several seller accounts: Helium 10 Diamond, for the 10 connected accounts.
- Experienced seller watching costs: possibly neither suite. A specialist like Data Dive or SmartScout may cover the job you actually do every week.
A disclosure before the details. Helium 10 runs in our own private-label store and we pay for it ourselves. We do not use Jungle Scout. Our view of it comes from its published plans, its documentation, and a side-by-side comparison of what each plan includes, not from running it on our own listings. The Helium 10 review carries an affiliate link that pays us; the Jungle Scout review does not. Where Jungle Scout wins below, it wins.
The comparison table
Prices are from each vendor’s own pricing page. The first figure is the annual plan expressed per month; monthly billing is in brackets.
| Helium 10 | Jungle Scout | |
|---|---|---|
| Plans | Free; Platinum $99/mo ($129); Diamond $279/mo ($359); Enterprise from $1,499/mo | Starter $29/mo ($49); Growth Accelerator $49/mo ($79); Brand Owner + CI $129/mo ($149); Cobalt custom |
| Free plan or trial | Free plan, no card required | No free plan, no trial; 7-day money-back guarantee |
| Product research | Black Box | Product Database and Opportunity Finder, 100 searches a month on Starter, unlimited above |
| Keyword research | Cerebro (reverse ASIN) and Magnet | Keyword Scout: 50, 250, or unlimited searches a month by plan |
| Listing tools | Listing Builder with AI, Listing Analyzer 50 a month on Platinum | Listing Builder with AI Assist; Listing Analyzer 50 or 300 a month; not on Starter |
| PPC | Helium 10 Ads (formerly Adtomic), full management on Diamond, 2% managed-spend fee | Ad analytics and negative keyword harvesting from Growth Accelerator up; no bid automation in Catalyst |
| Rank tracking | Keyword Tracker, 20 tracked ASINs on Platinum, 1,000 on Diamond | Rank Tracker, 500 keywords on Growth Accelerator, 5,000 on Brand Owner |
| Supplier research | None | Supplier Database from Growth Accelerator up |
| Extension | Chrome, covering Amazon, Walmart, and TikTok Shop | Chrome and Firefox, Amazon only |
| Walmart and TikTok Shop | Both supported | Neither, as far as we could find |
| Seats and accounts | Platinum 2 seller accounts, Diamond 10 | 1 user on the two lower plans; extra seats $49/mo |
| AI and MCP | Helium Agent and MCP on Diamond; MCP add-on for Platinum from $50/mo | AI Assist with monthly caps; MCP sold through the enterprise side |
| Sales estimates | Modeled from sales rank | Modeled from sales rank |
Two structural facts sit behind the table. Helium 10 belongs to Pacvue, the advertising-management company, which explains why its ad tools keep getting heavier. Jungle Scout has split itself in two: Catalyst for sellers under about $1M a year, and Cobalt, an enterprise platform sold per user on a demo. Everything in this comparison is Catalyst unless it says otherwise.
Product research
This is the closest race. Helium 10’s Black Box filters the catalog by revenue, price, reviews, weight, and seasonality. Jungle Scout splits the same job across two tools: Product Database for product-level filters, and Opportunity Finder for niche-level scoring by demand and competition. Both suites pair this with a browser extension that estimates sales on any search page.
Jungle Scout has one thing Helium 10 does not: a Supplier Database built from import records, showing which factories ship for which brands. For a seller sourcing a first product, that is a real time saver, and it comes with Growth Accelerator rather than as an add-on.
The catch is Starter. At $29 a month on the annual plan it looks like a bargain, but 100 database searches a month, no exports, and no supplier database make it closer to an extended demo. Growth Accelerator is the real entry plan.
On data accuracy, nobody gets to claim a win. Both tools estimate sales from Best Sellers Rank with their own models. Our Helium 10 review says Xray can be off by half on any single product, and we would assume the same of any modeled estimate until shown otherwise. We have not run a controlled accuracy test, and we distrust any comparison that declares one tool “more accurate” without publishing its method. Use either as a ranking of opportunities, never as a forecast.
Keyword research
Helium 10 wins this clearly, and it is the main reason we pay for it. Cerebro takes a competitor ASIN and returns every keyword it ranks for, with search volume, the competitor’s rank, and how many other products rank too. Run it on your top five competitors and you have the raw material for a listing rewrite and a PPC structure in an afternoon. Magnet covers the other direction, seed term in and related terms out.
Jungle Scout’s Keyword Scout does both directions in one tool and adds sponsored-bid data on the paid tiers above Starter. It is competent. The limits are the problem: 50 searches a month on Starter and 250 on Growth Accelerator. A seller auditing competitors every week will hit 250 faster than they expect, and unlimited searches start at $129 a month on Brand Owner, which costs more than Helium 10 Platinum.
Listings
Close to a tie. Both suites have a Listing Builder that slots your researched keywords into title, bullets, and backend terms, with an AI writer on top, and both have a Listing Analyzer with monthly caps. Neither replaces a real keyword-to-listing workflow, which is why our own rewrites start in Data Dive rather than in either suite’s builder. Jungle Scout leaves listing tools off Starter entirely.
PPC and advertising
Helium 10 is ahead, with a caveat on price. Helium 10 Ads, the tool formerly called Adtomic, runs rule-based bid and budget management, and full access sits on Diamond at $279 a month annual. Managed ad spend carries a 2% fee on top. Platinum users get a lighter AI-driven mode rather than the full rule set.
Jungle Scout’s Catalyst plans report on ads and harvest negative keywords from Growth Accelerator up, but they do not run bids. Automation lives on the enterprise side. If you want PPC automation without paying Diamond prices, neither suite is the cheap answer; a dedicated tool like Scale Insights is.
Analytics and operations
Both suites include a sales dashboard, an inventory manager, and a reimbursement tool. Jungle Scout also bundles review request automation from Growth Accelerator up, which Helium 10 handles through its follow-up email tool. None of these is a reason to pick a suite. As we say in the Helium 10 review, its Profits dashboard is fine for a glance and not for closing the books, and we assume the same of Jungle Scout’s. If profit tracking matters, a dedicated tool like Sellerise does it properly for about $20 a month.
The pricing math
Per year, on the plan most sellers would actually buy:
| Plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|
| Jungle Scout Starter | $348 | $588 |
| Jungle Scout Growth Accelerator | $588 | $948 |
| Jungle Scout Brand Owner + CI | $1,548 | $1,788 |
| Helium 10 Platinum | $1,188 | $1,548 |
| Helium 10 Diamond | $3,348 | $4,308 |
The like-for-like comparison is Growth Accelerator against Platinum, and Jungle Scout is $600 a year cheaper whichever way you are billed. Brand Owner is the cheapest plan with unlimited keyword searches, and it costs $360 a year more than Platinum on annual billing.
Seats change the math. Jungle Scout charges $49 a month, or $459 a year, per extra user on Growth Accelerator. Two extra seats on an annual Growth Accelerator plan come to $1,506 a year, against $1,548 for Brand Owner with three seats included. If more than one person needs access, skip straight to Brand Owner. One oddity to check before buying: Jungle Scout’s plan table lists Brand Owner with 3 seats, while the FAQ on the same page says 10.
Helium 10 has a free plan; Jungle Scout has a 7-day refund window instead. If you choose Jungle Scout, treat that week as your trial and run your whole shortlist through it before the window closes.
Where each one wins
Jungle Scout wins on entry price, the Supplier Database, review automation on the middle plan, a Firefox extension, and plan pages that are easier to read than most. For a seller still deciding what to sell, it is the better value.
Helium 10 wins on keyword depth, PPC management, Walmart and TikTok Shop coverage, multi-account support, a free plan to learn on, and a self-serve top tier for larger sellers. For anyone who already owns a listing, it is the better tool.
Pair a specialist instead of buying the biggest plan
Many experienced sellers never move up to Diamond or Brand Owner. They keep one mid-tier suite, or none, and add a cheaper specialist for the job they do every week.
- Data Dive for keyword and niche research. It turns competitor keyword data into a ranked master list, a listing plan, and a PPC skeleton, from $32/mo on the annual plan. It used to need a Helium 10 subscription for its data; it now pulls Jungle Scout data included in its own price, so it pairs with either suite or stands alone.
- SmartScout for brand and category intelligence. It starts from brands, sellers, and subcategories rather than single ASINs, from $49/mo, and it is the stronger choice for wholesale and arbitrage sellers.
Helium 10 Platinum plus Data Dive Starter, at $99 and $32 a month on annual billing, covers research, keywords, and listings for less than Helium 10 Diamond alone.
Verdict by seller type
New seller, pre-launch. Jungle Scout Growth Accelerator on the annual plan, at $588 for the year. The product database, Opportunity Finder, and supplier lookups are what you need before you own anything, and the price gap with Platinum is real money at that stage. Skip Starter; the caps will push you to upgrade within a month. Switch to Helium 10 once the product is live and keywords become the daily work.
Established 7-figure brand. Helium 10 Diamond. Jungle Scout’s own pricing routes brands over $1M to Cobalt, which means a sales call and a custom quote. Diamond is self-serve, tracks 1,000 ASINs, and bundles ads management. If competitive market-share reporting is the thing you need most, the Cobalt demo is worth an hour.
Agency. Helium 10 Diamond. Ten connected seller accounts on one plan is what agencies need, while Jungle Scout’s Catalyst plans are built around seats and its pricing page does not say how many client seller accounts one plan can connect.
Budget seller. Start on Helium 10’s free plan to learn how keyword research works at no cost. If you need a full product database for a month or two of research, buy Jungle Scout Growth Accelerator monthly at $79, use it hard, and cancel.
Bottom line
Jungle Scout is the better buy before launch. Helium 10 is the better buy after, and it is the one we pay for every month. If you can only afford one and already have a listing, pick Helium 10 Platinum on the annual plan and learn Cerebro properly.
