Verdict: the email platform to use once you sell off Amazon, because it knows what every customer bought and lets you act on it.

What it does

Klaviyo syncs with Shopify (and most other carts) at the order level, so every email and SMS can be triggered and segmented by what a customer actually did: browsed, abandoned a cart, bought twice, bought a specific product, went quiet. The automated flows (welcome, abandoned checkout, post-purchase, win-back) are where the revenue comes from; campaigns are the icing. It also has pop-up forms, reviews, a customer data layer, and a growing set of AI features for subject lines and send times.

For an Amazon seller it only matters once you have a store or a list. Amazon does not give you buyer emails, and Klaviyo cannot message Amazon customers.

Pricing (checked 20 October 2026)

Klaviyo bills on active profiles (unsubscribed and suppressed excluded) and reworked its billing in early 2025.

  • Free: up to 250 active profiles, 500 emails a month, a small SMS allowance, email support for the first 60 days.
  • Email: from $20/mo at 251 to 500 profiles, scaling with list size.
  • Email and SMS: from $35/mo at the same tier; SMS is a prepaid monthly credit bucket.
  • Add-ons: Customer Hub from $20/mo, Marketing Analytics from $100/mo, Helpdesk from $10/mo.

Monthly billing only; no annual discount is shown. The paid tiers are JS-rendered on the pricing page, so confirm your exact bracket in the calculator.

Who it is for

Any brand with a Shopify store and more than a few hundred customers. The abandoned-checkout and post-purchase flows alone justify the fee, and the segmentation is what lets a small brand send fewer, better emails.

Who should skip it

Amazon-only sellers (nothing to connect) and stores with lists under 250 profiles, who should use the free plan and nothing more. If you only want a newsletter, Mailchimp is cheaper at every list size.

Runs our store

Klaviyo runs the flows on our storefront. The post-purchase sequence is where it earns its keep: turning a one-time store buyer into a repeat buyer is the entire point of selling off Amazon.

The honest caveats

Price scales quickly with list size, and importing a large dormant list will push you up brackets for contacts who never open anything. The 2025 billing change added auto-upgrades and overages; read the billing page. SMS compliance is on you.

Bottom line

Start free, build the four core flows, and pay when the list passes 250. No affiliate link; the vendor link is below.
