Verdict: the cheapest sane way to pay an overseas supplier and to get paid from a foreign Amazon marketplace, and there is no monthly fee to keep it open.

What it does

Wise Business gives you local account details in up to 22 currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, and more) so a marketplace can pay you locally and you can hold the balance until the exchange rate suits you. Sending money converts at the mid-market rate plus a stated fee. Supplier payments in USD to a factory’s bank, Amazon Europe payouts landing in EUR without a forced conversion, and a debit card for software subscriptions in other currencies are the seller use cases.

Fees (checked 20 October 2026, US)

  • Account opening: $31 one-time, which unlocks the local account details. No monthly fee.
  • Conversion and sending: from 0.23%, varying by currency route.
  • Receiving: free for domestic transfers in USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD and others; incoming USD wires and SWIFT payments cost $6.11.
  • Card: free to pay with; ATM withdrawals free up to $250 a month, then $1.95 plus 1.95%.

Wise reviewed fees in December 2025 and raised some routes (several Asian currencies, EUR SWIFT bundling); the US opening fee has not changed since 2020. The UK has separate business tiers that do not apply here.

Who it is for

Sellers who pay suppliers abroad or sell on more than one Amazon marketplace. The savings against a bank wire with a hidden FX markup are typically 2% to 4% of each payment, which on inventory purchases is real money.

Who should skip it

Domestic-only sellers paying domestic suppliers; a normal business checking account does that job. Also note Wise is not a bank in the US; balances are held with partner institutions, and it is not a substitute for a primary operating account.

Runs our store

Wise is how we pay overseas suppliers and move marketplace payouts between currencies without losing a percentage to a bank’s hidden spread. The multi-currency balance means we can hold funds in the currency we will spend them in and convert when the rate is decent, not when an invoice forces us to.

The honest caveats

Large first-time transfers can trigger verification holds; plan supplier payments a few days ahead. Fees differ by route and change with periodic reviews. The CAD opening fee is not shown on the US page.

Bottom line

For international money movement, a $31 one-time fee is as cheap as it gets. No affiliate link; vendor link below.
